FORMALDEHYDE
I’ve become a victim of the work- and relax life cycle. I used to be adventurous, wanting to feel and experience different emotions. Now I’ve come in contact with myself, my personal shadow. I need to trigger my fear again in order to re-experience those feelings I haven’t felt in a long time.
Photography is an excuse to go on adventures and seek for thrills.
In this project I used the act of photography as a guide to get myself to feel uncomfortable emotions again as an attempt to experience more. The work floats in between the documentary and fiction practice. By researching into people’s fears and dissecting techniques used in horror movies I have created a collection of familiar images that tap into the general fears of the audience.
